KATE O'CONNOR CLAIMS BRONZE AND BREAKS RECORDS IN TORUN

Kate O’Connor delivered another outstanding performance at the World Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, securing the bronze medal in the pentathlon and setting a new Irish record of 4,839 points. Her brilliance didn’t stop there - she also set a new national record in the 800m, showcasing her strength across every event.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is the challenge she faced in the weeks leading up to the championships. Despite dealing with a couple of tricky injuries, Kate fought through with trademark determination and composure.

A Historic Run of Success This latest medal is Kate’s fifth in just 13 months, placing her among Ireland’s most accomplished athletes. Only Sonia O’Sullivan and Catherina McKiernan have won more individual medals at senior championship level - an incredible milestone for someone who is only 25.

Proud Partners in Her Journey As the official car partner for Team Ireland Olympics, Fiat is immensely proud to support Kate as she continues to raise the bar for Irish athletics. Her resilience, ambition, and consistency make her a true standout on the world stage.
